Associate Professor

Structural Ceramics, Synthetic Raw Materials, Refractories

BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Quantachrome; Autosorb-iQ,
  • Department : Ceramic Engineering
  • Location : CRF Lab II, Room No: TI-010, TIIR Building
  • Category : Category - I
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) method measures the surface area of materials by adsorbing a gas onto the surface and analyzing the resulting isotherm. The amount of gas adsorbed is used to calculate the surface area and pore size distribution.

APPLICATION:

Material Science: Characterizing catalysts, adsorbents, and porous materials Pharmaceuticals: Analyzing drug carriers and excipients Environmental Science: Studying soil and sediment samples Ceramics and Composites: Evaluating porosity and surface properties
