BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : ETTAN IPGphore3 and Epson Expression 11000XL scanner
  • Department : Life Science
  • Location : MN-339, Dept of life science
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Non-Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The ETTAN IPGphor 3 is a system used for the first dimension of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE), which separates proteins based on their isoelectric points (pI) through isoelectric focusing (IEF). Principle The ETTAN IPGphor 3 uses isoelectric focusing (IEF) to separate proteins in the first dimension based on their isoelectric points (pI). The Epson Expression 11000XL scanner is used for capturing high-resolution images of 2-DE gels. Principle The scanner uses photoelectric technology to capture high-resolution images of gel electrophoresis results.

APPLICATION:

Proteomics: Separation and analysis of complex protein mixtures Disease Research: Identification of differentially expressed proteins in disease vs. normal states Biotechnology: Characterization of recombinant proteins and enzymes Proteomics: Capturing images of 2-DE gels for analysis Research: High-resolution imaging for various biological and chemical analyses Quality Control: Ensuring accurate and reproducible results in gel electrophoresis
