BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Hitachi, F7000
  • Department : Chemical Engineering
  • Location : Interfaces and Nanomaterials Lab
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The F-7000 operates on the principle of fluorescence spectrophotometry, where it measures the intensity of fluorescent light emitted by a sample after it has absorbed light at a specific wavelength. This technique is highly sensitive and can detect even low concentrations of fluorescent substances

APPLICATION:

Industrial Materials: Measurement of fluorescent materials and fluorescence quantum yield of solid samples. Environmental: Water quality analysis. Pharmaceutical: Synthesis and development of fluorescence reagents, phosphorescence measurement. Biotechnology: Measurement of intracellular calcium concentration, FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer), and BRET (Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer)
